I have no idea why but it came to me as an evidence. Maybe because one of my first article was about the Electrocube, Etienne de Crécy's concert live. I found all this stuff browsing and it seemed like a good idea to make people think about magic as it is : Simple and Amazing ! Like the simplest thing or the most complexe thing as a CUBE ... it just depends how you look at it. Let me show you some examples.

Here is a video that is only 1min long where you can see David Blaine at his conference talking about what made him beat his holding breath record.
Downside of such an experience, he had to wear gloves really quiclky not to have his fingers falling off :-p

Journée réservée aux illusions d'optiques apparemment car je viens de trouver celle-ci et elle fait beaucoup d'effet.
Il vous suffit simplement cliquer sur l'image et de bien fixer le point noir au milieu de la photo. Rassurez-vous, ce n'est pas une blague, il n'y pas de zombie ou de cri assourdissant.

On est Mardi, c'est Magie ! Ce soir, il y a une scène ouverte aux cariatides avec un spectacle de magie avec 3 GRANDS magiciens, enfin il y en a des plus grand que d'autres, ça dépend de la taille vous me direz. Le spectacle commence à 21h pétante donc autant arriver vers 20h pour avoir le temps de boire un verre et avoir une bonne place devant la scène au sous-sol. Il y aura pour commencer Alzimmer (oui oui celui qui écrit ce blog ;-), puis Emilien et enfin Xavier D.
Le spectacle a lieu aux Cariatides, 3 rue Palestro (Métro Réaumur-Sébastopol), et sera présenté par Sidney.
En attendant je vous laisse retrouver votre âme d'enfant. Ca faisait longtemps que je recherchais cette vidéo car elle m'avait bluffé.
On sent qu'il se passe quelque chose dans sa tête quand il entend les applaudissements. Peut-être que ces pouvoirs n'ont pas encore disparu à cet âge là.

I talked to you about David Blaine before in another article to explain who is was and what he had been doing (you can read that here). And if you've been reading my blog you know I am a big fan of science and innovations. Ted has been one of the discovery I made one or two years ago and when I learnt that David blaine was gonna do a speech there, I couldn't resist trying to find out what he will talk about.
I already knew he was going to speak about his breath holding world record, which you can sum up in the shortclip just below. However during his speech at TED, he explained to people how to hol thier breath longer using simple methods.
It doesn't take 2 years to learn to hold your breath longer and better, you just need to know what to do. Then maybe you can wish to beat the world record ! At least ...
Definitions: Deep breathing: “Deep breathing” involves taking a big breath in through the mouth, holding for one second, and then exhaling for 10 seconds through your mouth through your almost-closed mouth with tongue pressed against your lower teeth. It should be a hissing exhalation and make a “tsssssss…” sound. All breathing and exercises are performed though the mouth.
Purging: “Purging” involves a strong exhalation as if you were trying to blow a toy sailboat across a pool, followed by a big but faster inhalation. David’s cheeks were puffed out as he demonstrated the exhalation (imagine the big bad wolf blowing the pigs’ homes down). Be careful not to heave or rock back and forth, which wastes oxygen. Keep as still as possible. Semi-purging: Breathing between the above two. More forceful than deep breathing but less forceful than full purging. Used for recovering after each time trial.
The Steps: 1:30 deep breathing
1:15 purging (if you feel like you’re going to pass out, do it less intensely)
Hold breath for target 1:30, no more
After 1:30, take 3 semi-purge breaths
1:30 deep breathing
1:30 purging
Hold breath for target 2:30, no more
After 2:30, take 3 semi-purge breaths
2:00 deep breathing
1:45 purging
Hold breath for as long as possible
After exhalation, take 3-10 hard semi-purge breaths until your recover
Sounds easy, it is simple, let's give it a try !
